What are the Cmobile multi-IMSI (Telstra/Optus) IoT SIMs?
Cmobile offers global IoT SIMs designed to connect Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine to Machine (M2M) devices. They operate on a globally distributed, locally compliant core network rather than relying on traditional permanent roaming.
In Australia, these SIMs operate on the Telstra network as the default network with back-up on the Optus network if there is no Telstra coverage or a network outage.
These SIMs do not have a local Australian mobile number and they can only be used for mobile data connections. No voice calls or SMS is available.
Key Features- Multi-IMSI over eUICC: Uses an embedded SIM (eSIM) technology combined with multiple International Mobile Subscriber Identities (IMSIs) to switch network profiles over-the-air.
- Local Breakout: Connects devices to local network identities in different countries to reduce latency and comply with strict national data residency laws.
- Self-Steering: Automatically selects or steers traffic away from specific local carrier networks to maintain an optimal “always-on” connection.
- Single Management Platform: Provides centralised control via cloud management tools to oversee connectivity, usage policies, and provisioning.
Common Use Cases- Global Asset Tracking: Shipping cargo or sensors across international borders without running into permanent roaming blocks or changing physical SIM cards.
- Smart Meters and Utilities: Deploying connected infrastructure that must meet local regulatory compliance and operate reliably for years.
- Enterprise Fleet Management: Scaling connected vehicle fleets across multiple regions using a uniform hardware profile.
If you require voice, SMS and data with an Australian mobile number, Cmobile can offer local Australian IMSI SIMs directly on either Telstra, Optus or Vodafone networks. Contact us for more information.
